about
Hey Jester, the self-titled single for the album coming November 22nd, is a light-hearted sarcastic song with a romantic undertone. A man known as the "Jester" is being played like a fiddle by the "Queen" because of her cunning manipulation and his gullible infatuation! On a deeper level, it is social commentary on western culture's hedonist relationships which leads to the destruction of stable families, juxtaposed with some groovy jazz and rock n' roll.
lyrics
Only had two hearts, and a diamond just for you,
There's two things I need, a club and spade to bury you,
Jokers on your card, will he take a chance with you?
Wants to make it work, a fools errand he'll fall for you
Hey Jester
You've got a queen and she's on her own
Hey Jester
You are worthy of the throne
Hey Jester
You've got a queen and she's on her own
Hey Jester
She's on her own
If you had your way, you would make him your subject,
Baby's on the way, will you keep it? Yes yes yes
Till death do us part? You don't believe in fairy tales
Make him bend the knee, and you will say yes yes yes
Hey Jester
You've got a queen and she's on her own
Hey Jester
You are worthy of the throne
Hey Jester
You've got a queen and she's on her own
Hey Jester
She's on her own
